Introduction

About 4 months ago, I didn't have any idea what I was going to be doing for my first sabbatical. Actually, at that point I wasn't certain that I would even get to take one because my tenure was under consideration -- if I didn't get tenure, I'd be looking for a job, not a sabbatical! In any case, I began to consider where to take my sabbatical. This blog will describe the journey, beginning with how to decide who to contact and concluding with getting settled in a new country. I hope that it might help a few people that face the similar daunting task. If nothing else, I'm looking forward to writing it!
